one down, five to go

DS1 stopped puking at around 11am, and spent a good part of the rest of the day sleeping or resting. He managed to drink and keep down maybe 6-8 ounces of various fluids, and went right to bed around 8. He seemed a little warm to me but since I'm freezing today (I'm wearing sweats and a hoodie), I couldn't tell if he actually had a fever or not. If he did, it was mild, and his mood was good.

I'm hopeful for tomorrow.

My dire threats to make DS2 sleep in the garage if he hassled me about keeping the hall lights on seems to have worked. I won't know until I get up there, he may be in bed with DD... again.

Both DS2 and DD were angels today, making crafts, playing outside and in, and watching some TV with their sick bro. I managed to get quite a bit of rest in the morning in between DS1's bouts of vomitting, so I had enough to get through the day.

Watched part one of the USA mini-series "Frankenstein," and while it's interesting, it's view of humanity is too bleak by far. It's possible there will be some redemption in the second part, but I'm kind of doubting it. Plus, "The X-Files" atmospherics were old about 3 seasons before "The X-Files" finally died... when I've watched the whole thing I may write a review, just to keep my hand in at it, so to speak.

I think I remembered to do all the evening/going to bed chores that DH does: feed the cat, clean her box, make sure all the doors are locked, etc etc none of it takes very long but each task makes me miss him being here to do it. He had a good flight and called me when he was settled at the hotel... hopefully it will be an easy week for him there.

DH's middle brother called to see how I am doing. It was very kind. I really like him and my SIL, and their daughters, tremendously. But it was still hard going through the whole thing yet again, the non-diagnosis, the outlook, the surgical procedure, what I might expect... eeesh. I'm bored with it already. I want it to be over! But it was nice to hear from him.

My sis called and gave me the low-down on my grand-nephew's b-day party. He misses his AZ cousins (he is the same age as DD), and asked, "When are they moving to the United States?" Hee! I love that kind of stuff. I do so wish we could go to these family parties, we never get to, we're just not there... still, I love our life here and I have no illusions about the difficulties I would have living back in MA with the weather and the economy there being what they are. AZ suits us, suits me, fine. If only I could conspire to drag the family out here...

Well, I'm off to bed at a decent hour lest I be completely incapable of handling the day tomorrow. I hope and pray that DS1 is well on the mend.
