perfect snack + small rumination on vocabulary

4 dried apricots
small handful of pecans (shelled)
2 squares bittersweet chocolate

Nibble alternately until gone.

I had a cuppa*, too, but my throat still hurts.

*Certain British-English expressions enchant me. You won't find any colours hereabouts, but you will see things like this little term for cup of tea. I'm also partial to bootless and daft. We also have a paddling pool, and you'll find my kids saying, "Ready, steady, go!" thanks to Kipper. I adore Kipper because he is so kind, and so charming.

I like these expressions not because they are British but because I like the connotations surrounding the words, the feelings and atmosphere they evoke. Maybe their appeal to me is more that they are old-fashioned? Perhaps it's a bit pretentious but since I actually do talk this way IRL, I'll continue to use my own voice here in the blog.
